Pro Iter Ambiente was commissioned to draft the final design of an hazardous and non-hazardous waste storage plant in the province of Milan.
The planned plant will be located inside an existing industrial building and will handle waste from various construction sites managed by the Client through storage and selection, sorting, consolidation and compaction operations. This waste, consisting mainly of mixed waste from construction and demolition activities, cement, iron and steel, wood, glass, plastic, insulating materials, mixed and paper packaging, cables and end-of-life equipment, will be stored in storage bays or containers inside the industrial building pending shipment to authorised external facilities for final recovery.

Final design of a hazardous and non-hazardous waste storage plant.
Preparation and upload to the institutional portal of the documentation required to obtain the Single Authorisation ex art. 208 of Legislative Decree 152/2006.
Preparation of the predictive acoustic impact study, including on-site phonometric measurements.
Preparation of the Appropriate Assessment.
Preparation of the airborne sampling plan.
Support to the Client during the authorisation procedure.
Liaison with the Environmental Authorities and participation in meetings with competent authorities.
For the purposes of obtaining authorisation for the construction and operation of the designed plant, a Single Authorisation application (Article 208 of Legislative Decree 152/2006) was prepared and submitted. Specifically, the activities included:
a) Preparation and transmission to the Environmental Authorities of all the documentation required to complete the authorisation procedure in accordance with regional guidelines, including an environmental compatibility study, inducted traffic analysis, and analysis of siting criteria for waste management plants;
b) Preparation of a predictive acoustic impact study, including on-site sound level measurements;
c) Preparation of an airborne substance sampling plan;
d) Preparation and transmission of the Appropriate Assessment as required by regional regulations.
During the authorisation process, support was also provided to the Client by preparing responses to requests for additional information, clarifications, and opinions from the Environmental Authorities, as well as participation in meeting with competent authorities.
