Pro Iter Progetto Infrastrutture Territorio S.r.l. Erre.Vi.a. S.r.l, Sinèrgo S.r.l, Dvision Architecture S.r.l
The Project upgrades the geometric and functional features of an existing road segment and its associated interchanges, aligning them with the standards set by current regulations. The upgraded section will adhere to the specifications for a “Type B” road, as defined by D.M. 05/11/2001. The project spans from the Cerchiaia interchange on State Road SS 223 “di Paganico” to the West Bypass of Siena (SS 674).
This intervention is part of a broader program of works, partially completed and partially underway, aimed at the technical-functional modernization and requalification of the E78 Grosseto–Fano route. The overarching goal is to establish a major road corridor connecting the regions of Tuscany and Marche, serving as a key transversal axis linking the Tyrrhenian and Adriatic coasts.
For this network, which complements multimodal corridors and connects provincial capitals, the Regional Transport Plan stipulates that at least secondary interurban roads must meet specific functionality standards. The project is designed to elevate the geometric and functional characteristics of this segment to align with the specifications of the future comprehensive route.
Planned Enhancements
This modernization will significantly enhance the operational efficiency, safety, and integration of this crucial road segment within the broader E78 network, supporting both regional connectivity and interregional mobility.
